I thought this was an interesting thing to do for charity. I volunteered to participate in a 25 BLOGGERS/25 DAYS contest that is part of the Start With Substance program. The goal is to get readers to join the Start With Substance campaign by becoming a Facebook Fan of the Quaker Facebook page. Readers have to post their Quaker Man pictures there by 9AM 2/4/2009 for the little minions to compete to receive a $5000 donation to a hunger charity of their choice.
Consider this your breakfast task of the morning, people (LOL). I need your links before 9AM. Seriously.
Check this out:
I have to provide link to the Official Rules, which you can read here. Click the link on the page to Facebook.
I have to provide a link to the official Facebook page (through http://www.startwithsubstance.com)
Here's my mandatory disclosure and instructions on how to play: Quaker is providing two coupons, each good for $1.00 off any 2 Quaker Oats’ products to award to readers and a case of oatmeal for the local food bank of our choice (if we win), so go to the Facebook page, download the image of the Quaker Man, print it, take a photo of you or your family with the Quaker Man, upload it to the Facebook page and submit the link to MY comments section HERE so I can find you guys and keep score. The photo (or video) must be taken in your home with family member(s) or feature you all by yourself.
The Quaker Man logo must remain in intact and may not be modified in any manner. Readers must use the exact download of the image, and all entries need to be wholesome in nature. No nudity, defamation, obscene language or inappropriate, rude behavior! Keep it PG-13 people. I do not want any drama from these people. I like them. :-)
My fave quote: This program is taking place over 25 business days and the blogger who gets the most Reader submissions by 9 a.m. CST the following morning, (within 24 hours) will win the opportunity to select a hunger charity of their choice to receive a $5000.00 donation made to the charity by The Quaker Oats Company.
Feel free to post your facebook links and pictures here so I know you're playing along with me and the little minions. In order for reader comments to be valid toward the grand prize, readers will have to link to a photo of them on the Facebook page with the Quaker Man. :-)
Stephen, The Blur Minion is enjoying himself. He's been dancing around the apartment with a different size Q-man every other minute. He liked posing for the pictures and is quite a ham. Usually, when in blur-mode I can't get a clean shot of him to save my life, but today he decided to cooperate. He even said "cheese." Yay!
