Christmas Lights and Midtown Minions

Susan Mangigian was right: Play dough and microwave should "never, ever, ever be used in the same sentence" (LOL). I've been joking in Twitter about this and I must say when it comes to ironic humor Ruthmarie Hicks has got me and my little people down pat. She has come up with a brilliant blog post idea and I can't wait to present it. Now if I can only stop laughing long enough to write it. ;-)

I am going to dedicate this post to my girlfriend Poppy Dinsey who has been a bit quiet in Active Rain lately. It appears that the electronic cat has her virtual tongue and we American followers may have to make some virtual noise across the Big Pond to get our London Love back in action over here in Club Chaos (LOL). If you haven't been keeping up, you can read all about it in AgentGenius here. Do stop by and leave a positive comment for my gal pal. I thank you in advance for your kindness towards someone I love. :-)

BTW, I've been getting some very interesting e-mail and DMs about my Twitter wisecracking on my Autistic and PDD-NOS children, so I figured I'd chat about it over here. The cool thing about having unique little minions is that they both keep me on my blogging toes. I've lots to chat about on and off topic, so when I am bored, all I have to do is wait for their imagination to kick in and another day of chaos and laughter begins. If you haven't met them yet, all I will say for now is that my self-directed kids are adept at tilting adult brains. Since today's post is about Christmas Lights, I shall explain the exploding play dough saga another day. I may even make a little film to go with it (LOL).

Suffice it to say that in a desperate attempt to keep Stephen, the Blur Minion away from the electronics and Noah the Notable out of my kitchen, we will be going on systematic eye candy hunts to bring my readers New York City Christmas Lights. Here's a little eye candy from our last buggy ride in Midtown Manhattan, courtesy of the Minion Blur. BTW, my 2.7 year old insisted on the Grand Central Terminal shot. You'd think he'd pick the one with the Christmas lights in it but nooooooooo... It had to be this one (LOL). When little man uses language, I aim to please (and we all know how the last "that one" request turned out - ROTFL).

Enjoy!

Carolyn - now there is some fabulous eye candy - I would love to see your area during the holidays. Please keep sharing these wonderful photos.

WOW!  NYC knows how to wrap it up!  Thanks for sharing the east coast candy with us.

Gotta respect the Minions' opinions!

Thank you, Sharon. I most certainly will. It's mad fun taking the kids out on an eye candy run. They get so excited and animated to be in the midst of what's going on. Noah likes to give directions. He's turning into quite the side-seat driver (LOL). Stephen is like his Mama, always wants to stop for food. :-)

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) almost 12 years ago

LOL @ Elaine. They have been watching their Mama create art and photography since they popped into the world. I am really getting such a kick out of taking my kids with me to work. The love the excursions and I'm thinking on taking them to CT next. I've been in contact with the Hotel Chesterfield and am looking forward to seeing the eye candy sites near there. Check out http://www.thehotelchesterfield.com and tell me what you think. I think my kids will love it! Very comfortable family oriented place. The manager is a sweetie, too. I met her through Active Rain and we have been doing quite a bit of e-mailing. :-)

Nothing like NYC at Christmas. Have a great day. Imus talks about autism a good bit on his radio program.

I'm glad the minions get you out and about this season!  I get to see all the wonderful decorations from the comfort of my office...no train ride or cold feet!  Thanks!

C, these photos are wonderful!  There are many other words that you should never use in the same sentence as microwave!  I remember coming home from work to a smoke filled house.  It seems that Mike was making popcorn in the microwave and instead of putting the popcorn in for 3 minutes, he put it in for 20 minutes.  Well, the darn popcorn caught fire.  So, after he cleaned it up, he put another bag in, for another 20 minutes and was seemingly very surprised that the second bag caught fire too!  What is the definition of insanity?  Doing the same things over and over, and expecting different results?  Yep, I thought so!

Michael, I quite happily agree. It will be fun taking the kids to the Cathedral to hear the choir sing. My 6 year old is starting to have an idea of who Jesus is. Very cool. :-)

Thank you, Susie. I shall have to check that out. :-)

Thank you, Ann. You can barely see the 59th Street Bridge in the background. We were on our way towards the lower roadway when we saw these trees just off of 1st Avenue. Very lovely, indeed. :-)

C-Wow-those pictures are great. Thanks for sharing.

Carolyn- great pictures.  I so want to bring my daughter to New York.  Her class was supposed to come the spring of 02, but after 911 the school board canceled the trip.  These pictures make me want to take her sooo bad.
