When you cross the 59th Street Bridge from Queens County into Manhattan, sometimes you get to see the tram arriving and departing for Roosevelt Island. My kids like to ride it for the view. Spanking-A eye candy, too! :-)

We like to park by the hotels and take a buggy ride through Mid-Manhattan. You can pick a carriage up along 59th St in front of Central Park.

Some of the horse drawn buggies can be found lined up along Central Park near this statue.
Here's a little eye candy from our Thanksgiving carriage ride. Stay tuned for tomorrow night's turtle run so you can see some spanking Christmas lights. They are starting to go up all over New York City. Turns out we were too early for the decorating of the giant evergreen tree in the last shot. The kids were waiting patiently but it was getting cold. It went from 44 to 37 degrees and I had to protect my little people from freezing. I hope to take them back into New York County over the week-end, which is why I'm jogging tomorrow night to scope out some decorations. I want to plan a nice route to keep the little minions busy with lots of eye candy to enjoy.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. May God bless and each and every one of you and your families. Regards, C.

Hi Carolyn, I love the sights and sounds of Manhattan like the horse drawn carriages and St. Patrick's Cathedral. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.
Thank you, Gary. I have been having a blast with my little ones. They are too funny. Talk about being pie crazy! I couldn't keep them out of the fridge (LOL). We shared out first infrared turkey today and it was really, really good. My hubby loves his new infrared cooker. Can't wait to see what he decides to make next. Enjoy the rest of your day, sweetie. Regards, C. :-)
It's cool when I see pictures like these and know I have stood in the same spot to see these in person. Weird!!
Moments like that always make me smile, yet simultaneously feel a little off kilter as I try to remember if something has changed, or has remained the same. I was at Queens Plaza North today and felt very sad that the places I used to frequent had been torn down for new construction. Sometimes you don't know what you have until it's gone... Lizette, I would love to hear more about your NY trip one day.
We're about due for a Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular - maybe next year! When my kids were little we used to go every couple of years; I used to order the tickets over the phone and have the operator go through the seating chart with me, because if I was traveling in for a show with my kids I wanted the best seats I could get. The best year was when we were first row center and a Rockette winked at my son! After the show we would go to St. Patrick's (light a candle or two), see the tree and view the store windows.
Thanks for the memories Carolyn! : )
Carolyn - Very cool "eye candy". I have never been to New York, so it's fun to live vicariously through my friends. :-)
Carolyn, love the pics..sounds ike you had a great time. By the way, when exactly do you sleep??
C - I bet the minions enjoy the carriage rides. Looks like you had a great day. Happy Thanksgiving!
C, Grew up in Jersey but never had the opportunity to take a buggy ride in the city. Now, all I can think of is the Seinfeld episode of a buggy ride, hilarious. I did love going into the city on a holiday though when there is less traffic.
Thanks for the show! Wonderful horse drawn buggies! The last time I was in one was in Izmir, Turkey in the mid 80's. :)
Hi Carolyn, I love these pictures... it looks like so much fun... makes me want to be there!
Love the shots of the cathedral and theatre.........oh a buggy ride in New York......now isn't that heaven? :-)
C- Thanks for sharing NYC with us. You are making wonderful memories for your two lucky boys and for youself. So much to be thankful for!
VTS... Now that looks like NYC< Thanks for sharing the eye candy!
Kathy P, I have been waiting for my wee ones to get just a bit older so they can stay in their seats long enough for me to take them and actually enjoy the show (LOL).
Jason, have I got a treat in store for you, my friend. I shall have to up my game so your vicarious life stays interesting. :-)
Thank you, Barb, I'm glad you enjoyed them. Sleep? What's sleep? We nap in my house. (LOL) When you have little minions like mine, one eye has got to stay open at all times. My kids are very busy so I have to work fast to stay one step ahead of 'em. ;-)
Erik, they were bug eyed with wonder. It was awesome! No two rides are ever the same. I love living here! There is so much to see and do in NYC... So little time, so much to blog about. :-)
LOL @ Richard I. I loved that episode!
C-Sally-C, I would love to hear more about your trip, that sounds fascinating. :-)
Shirley, it was a lot of fun. We would love to have you come play with us. I'm going to start holding "tweet-ups" at the Soho gallery where I show my artwork. Maybe you will be able to come one day. :-)
Liz, it certainly is a very lovely treat, indeed. Spanking-A! :-)
Margaret, I certainly do have a lot to be thankful for! I'm going to be talking a bit about that later on. :-)
Richard W, you are very welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed them. Got a treat in store. Running out the door, but will be back to let you guys in on my latest project. :-)
C,
More great NYC eye candy. I can hardly wait for the Christmas Lights.
Hey, CTS it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...that does not mean I at all ready! But it must be true, saw Santa bringing up the rear in the Macy's parade so the season is upon us!
Those pictures are great. Thanks for sharing - the buggy ride seems like a great way to spend the holidays and see the decorations. Hope you had a good thanksgiving.
Great photos!!
Say, what does it cost to take the carriage ride? Just wondering.
Carolyn,
Thank you so much for sharing! Your photo's brought back so many good memories of Manhattan! I loved working there and now I love visiting!
JoAnna

C - some more terrific eye-candy from the city that never sleeps. Thanks for sharing again.
I went to school in the old Pan Am Building. Familiar sights for which I thank you!
Mmmm...look at all the yummy candy! Reminds me of when I was younger and we would go to NYC every Black Friday!

Carolyn - I've never been to NYC... It looks cold! Thanks for sharing the great shots!
Carolyn - what a great day - and I love your photos. Definitely gets you in the holiday spirit.
What a delightful variety of photos showing Manhattan at Thanksgiving. You make me feel like I am there with you, C, and that's the best thing a photographer can wish for.
Elizabeth, that is a very high compliment. Thank you. I shall strive to improve my ability to do just that. I love collecting eye candy! Sharing it with my friends is even better. :-)
Thank you, Sharon. It certainly put a smile on my face. :-)
Debbie, it is cold, but wonderful! I love the changing of the seasons. They are my fave four flavors of the year! :-)
LOL @ Jeremy. That must have been quite a shopping event. :-)
Susie, I remember when it had the original Pan Am logo on top. What a beautiful blue sight that was. I'm glad you enjoyed the shots. :-)
Thank you, Big Mike. Kudos and congrats on the start of your new group. :-)
I want to go on a horse drawn carriage ride too! I've never done it! Looks like you got some great shots.
Missy, I'm glad you enjoyed them. :-)
Thank you, Kristin. it was very happy. :-)
JoAnna, you are welcome. :-)
Cheryl J, they negotiate the fares for each ride. :-)
Thank you, Stacey-Ann. :-)
Laura, it most certainly is. :-)
Don, I am looking forward to my run tonight. :-)
Susan, it is a lovely thing to experience, especially when the sun starts to set. :-)
Hi C,
These pictures are great. We have horse and buggy rides here too that tour our little city, not any skyscrapers or as many lights, just the serene lake, a quaint downtown district and the beautiful night sky. Both beautiful in their charm, I think( I used to live in New York).
Wow! Very cool. It is a magical time of year. Your pics are awesome.
Rebecca, I would love to see that one day. :-)
Thank you, Mel. :-)
It's been awhile since I have made it to Manhattan, but loved to visit this time of year! The holiday window displays out of this world. I would love a carriage ride. Did you see Jekyll and Hyde? Even though I knew the story the Broadway show kept me on the edge of my seat the entire show.
Hi,
Thanks for the eye candy. Makes me want to get to New York for the holidays. Thanks for the blessings on friends and family and the same to you and yours.
C, great shots! You are really making me miss up north. I am going to have towork in a trip next year. BTW, I love the carriage rides, they can be so romantic at night.
C. Wow, these are amazing pictures. I love the horse and buggy. Thanks for sharing them with us.
C sounds like a lovely day. Really nice I candy, I have some shots I would like to post of NYC except I can't name the buildings.
Hi C - what a wonderful pictorial of your day! I watched the Macy's Parade while I cooked. I'm glad it's televised for those of us out of the area. Most of our Parades are the weekend before. I'm sure that's due to the tremendous size of the Parade in New York and the fact that we all want to watch that one on TV!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend!
April
Thanks for sharing the pictures. I took my kids in 2006 and it was a great experience for us all. Thanks for sharing
Shelton
Crystal, yes I did and it was marvelous. :-)
Charles, you are very welcome. Enjoy your day, sweetie. :-)
Tanya, they most certainly can and I hope you do visit soon. :-)
Carolyn,
What great shots you shared with us! Looks like you and your family had a wonderful time! I love the picture of the church and Radio City Music Hall, hope to get to travel there some day,... for NOW these pictures will suffice! ;)
C - my friend has never been there. I think I plan a trip for this summer. Maybe July or so. I will definitely let you know once I pin down a date.
Thank you, Michelle. I do hope you will come and visit New York City. It's an awesome place to vacation at, not to mention live. :-)
Tanya, I would love to see you guys. Looking forward to hearing how your vacation plans develop. :-)
I have never been to New York. I am not a big city kind of gal . .but if there are horses in New York, I sure wouldn't mind doing that. I would like to NY someday!
Tami, I hope I am here and not running around on an AR Road Trip when you do eventually come. :-)
