Club Chaos Eye Candy: Shea Stadium and Citi Field

Citi Field and Shea Stadium have a statistical comparison chart that you can read here at the New York Mets official website. Citi Field is due to open in April of 2009 and I am very excited about that because we are going to bring the boys to a family day event. How would you like to see a time lapse video recording of the construction over a period of months? It's a very cool little video but a bit slow so please have some patience while you are waiting for it to load. You can watch the video clip here.

Here is a little eye candy from my turtle run this morning. It was fun hanging out with the hard hats. I'll be back next month to update you on their progress with more photographs. Enjoy!

So.  Ummmmmm, no pics of the hard hats????  ;-)

Nice pics, Carolyn (I can't wait to see the inside) - we are big Mets fans at my house.  But I tell ya, I could've dug some hard hat photos.

Being from Atlanta, I'm not a Mets fan :) but I do think it's going to be a great stadium.

Nice pics!  Thanks for taking time to put this together.

Sandy, I try not to invade their privacy or disturb them while they are working. I always shoot them from a distance. They have been very kind to me. :-)

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) about 12 years ago

Thank you, Kelly. There is going to be a lot more than sports going on when they finally do finish the new stadium. We're very excited about that. :-)

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) about 12 years ago

Darrell, I appreciate their vision in expanding the stadium to accommodate other enterprises. However, I will miss the original... They are going to be selling off the old stadium seats. That should be very interesting. :-)

Hi Mel! Glad you enjoyed the eye candy. :-)

Okay time to go to sleep ... I put my comment on the wrong post!

Hi C ... Cool video.  That  structure is very interesting ... has a retro Queens industrial look to it a la Long Island City.  Great presentation!

Thank you, Marie. It does look like it belongs by the 59th Street Bridge, dosn't it? :-)

Carolyn, CitiField is really taking shape. Thanks for the pics.

Wow, that is a cool field.  I wonder if that is why Citi cancelled the credit card that I hadn't used in years? So weird that both a friend and I got a cancellation due to "inactivity".  My husband said it is because of the credit crunch but I really think it is because they are spending all the money on this new field! :o)

Posted by Cristal Drake, Realtor - Fullerton Real Estate (Prudential California Realty) about 12 years ago

C-Wow- that is going to be a nice stadium. Thanks for sharing with us.

Posted by Laura Watts (Positive Properties, LLC) about 12 years ago

C, Looks like a cool place. I used to take my rug rats out to see football, baseball, and soccer games when they were younger. Great that you are looking forward towards family day at the new stadium...

Morning C,

Thanks for posting the pictures and related information. CitiField is coming along with good speed. Looks like most of the work will be finished before winter sets in.

C - I know that you have been told this a million times but you really take some kick a$$ pics.  You capture quite a bit and I ALWAYS enjoy your Eye Candy!

Posted by Leesa Finley, RED Properties - Raleigh NC Real Estate (RED Properties) about 12 years ago

You are very welcome, Gary.

Cristal, that totally whomps. You should be able to use the card when you want to and not have it canceled because they do not want to pay the expense of monitoring an inactive account. I kept telling my husband to go to Sears and buy a pair of socks or something, but he didn't use his card so they closed it for inactivity as well.

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) about 12 years ago

Yes, Laura, it certainly is. There will be a lot of shops inside as well.

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) about 12 years ago

Michael, I am looking forward to doing that as well with my boys (as soon as their attention spans improve - LOL)

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) about 12 years ago

Thank you, Leesa. I love taking pictures. I'm always thinking about painting or sketching something. I have such a thing for eye candy. It's fun being able to share with you guys.  :-)

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) about 12 years ago

Hal, I do hope you are right. It would be nice to show the inside. :-)

I am going to miss Shea.  Growing up in NYC we used to go there all the time.  At least we still have the 7 train to get us there and back.

Posted by Josef Katz, {Marketing Maestro} (Digital and Direct Response Marketing) about 12 years ago

Jeremy, I'm so used to them fluctuating with their winning and losing I just like watching them all play. It makes my friends a little crazy that I like the Mets and the Yankees. When they play against each other I'm rooting for both sides (LOL).

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) about 12 years ago

Josef, I'm with you. I am really going to miss Shea when they dismantle it.

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) about 12 years ago

You know you can buy the stadium seats as souvenirs.  I have a friend who bought two and is putting them in his basement.  Now that is a serious Met fan.
