Thank You Kathy: The Association of Design Education (ADE) is a small AR group that ROCKS!

Looking for Staging training or continuing design education? Have questions about your business plan or décor issues?

As soon as I saw those two questions I knew that this was THE GROUP for me. I had such a good time with my girlfriend Kathy Passarette in Port Jefferson, I found myself wondering why I had never thought about working with a Stager before now. Kathy was so sweet about answering all of my questions and giving me a detailed overview of her business model and trade's profession that I found myself also wondering why the entire time I've been a Realtor at my office we have not invited a Stager to come in and speak with the Realtors.

Hmm... There is something very wrong with this picture. I am going to change all of that.

We have mortgage brokers and attorneys in all of the time. Why not Stagers? I believe it is a disservice to our sister trade not to take advantage of their expertise. They have so much value they can bring to the table. I plan on booking the large conference room sometime in October if Kathy can spare a little of her time when we have our next AR get together in NYC. By the way, she is also a paralegal, just like me, and we both have very busy schedules juggling multiple businesses. If this visit and future presentation does work out for us, we both will be sure to blog about it. I think the results would be very interesting. I would love to re-do the boys room. Shopping with KP on an official makeover spree would be fun. BTW, Kathy has a cool website you can check out here. If you haven't read Kathy's blog, I think you'd enjoy it.

The Association of Design Education (ADE) is the staging group that I decided to join after I realized there was so much more I could learn to help my clients (not to mention myself). Kathy was instrumental in my joining, and I really like their group description: "This non-denominational Group is a forum for Students, Stagers and Trainers alike. The Association of Design Education (ADE) was formed to promote excellence in the field of specialized design education. Each Education Affiliate offers a variety of programs in interior redesign training, home staging training, and interior decorating training that exceed industry standards. Visit ADE: http//:www.associationofdesigneducation.com "

Being a graphic and fine artist and having a background in illustration and fashion design, I felt an affinity for their programs and I loved the transparency of their posts. They speak with such professionalism, dignity and caution plus the fact that they are very open and honest with their desire to be of service to both Sellers and Realtors made my joining this little group a pleasure for me. They constantly seek to improve (which is why I joined Active Rain) and unlike the arrogance I see with a few Realtors who have the nerve to act offended if anyone tries to tell or suggest another way to do "their job" so all can potentially or equally benefit, the members of this group will stick their necks out to be kind and helpful. I certainly am not a Stager, yet they welcomed me into the fold with open arms. They remind me of warmth and friendliness of my Club Chaos family (and I do hope CC as well as a lot of the Rainers will stop by to say hello and give some thought as to how to help them with their endeavors). They are a very diverse and interesting group of people and I believe you will enjoy reading their blogs. I see them as the newest members of my team of professionals to refer business to and I am looking forward to learning from them, sharing ideas, making new friends and posting some posts, starting with this one.

The Founder of this group is the lovely and very talented Julia Maher. If you haven't read her blog I think you should. I am very happy to be a subscriber and am looking forward to adding her to my long list of AR road trips with my little minions.

Before I go, there is an Active Rain featured post at ADE I think you will find interesting. It is written by Donna Schoby of Ready, Set, Stage! (Fayetteville, AR) that you can read here. I'd say more about it, but I am saving that for another blog because the delightful Donna and newest Club Chaos family member, Julia Maher, have inspired me (LOL). For those of you who do not know me, I can be very interesting once inspired. Oh-oh - I would not want to spoil all of the fun at once, so feel free to read my comment on Donna's blog and imagine where I will be going next in ADE and Club Chaos regarding my views on staging. :-)

Do please stop by and welcome Julia and her new group into the fold. If you have not joined already, please consider helping them with your expertise. Nothing beats playing it forward in a positive light. I learned that from Duane Marlink and the ThemThem tribe. Enjoy your day playing in the Rain. Regards, C.

CTS - you are always looking out for everyone & paying attention to what everyone is doing.  It helps those that are still searching around for what to read, where to focus, etc.  I think you should be in the FBI...what say you?

Bringing in a home stager to your office is a spectacular idea.  I think I will suggest that also - can't hurt to learn a thing or two, or three can it?  I will check out their blogs next. KM

Hi C- Thanks for writing about staging. This is an area I could definitely learn more about. Also, thanks for your comments on my blog. Have a great weekend. Bonnie

Carolyn ~ Wow!  I don't know what to say, except that I am glad you are such an open-minded person! We will definitely have to talk; I have this one big staging job I have to finish up this weekend, which I will, of course, be posting about with before and after pics. : )  I would be thrilled to help you out too!  We could definitely have a lot of fun with your place!  I'm so glad you joined that group to keep informed about staging.

Kristin, after retiring from law enforcement with 20 years with the City of New York, the idea of joining the FBI is hilarious. I'm "too old" to be an agent. I'm 43. They want spring chickens like you bay-bay (LOL). Thanks for the chuckle, sweetie. BTW, I'm glad you find my blog useful and I do hope you join the group. There is a lot of potential to network here, not to mention make new friends. ;-)

Bonnie, lets learn it together. Feel free to join and hang out with them. They are a lovely group of people. BTW, you are very welcome, Veronica. Thanks for letting me re-blog one of your posts. :-)

Kathy, I am very happy you inspired me to do so. Looking forward to our next play date with the little minions so we can also plot and plan our October schedules and do some networking. :-)
