A New York Quest for Eye Candy

http://realtytimes.com/rtpages/20080813_overcome.htm

Dirk Zeller, in a Realty Times article, talks about how being sleep deprived by his son affects his performance and I found myself thinking about what all of my friends had to say very recently on the subject. Stephen has not been sleeping through the night, which means that I have been blogging at very odd hours... among other things. :-)

To quote Mr. Zeller, "I ultimately made the decision that I was not going to be the victim of circumstances or the victim of my feelings. I was going to be the creator of the outcome. I set a standard for myself and then lived up to that standard with my behavior. The interesting part was that my feelings came around once I created a little momentum..."

Hmm... Thant sounds like it could be a very useful idea to embrace. If you haven't already, I highly recommend you read his article by selecting the link above.

So, I am sifting through two hundred and seven new photographs while siting here wondering if I am on the right path to creating a little "positive momentum" with all of the angst I've been wading through lately. I do know I am looking forward to going on an eye candy hunt with the little minions in tow this week. Play dates are always interesting. Food dates even better. Noah is enjoying the last day of summer school today before he is officially on vacation. Should be interesting to see what the little minion comes up with while on Nikon duty with his Mama.

I do know that telescope duty has been mad fun. We usually put it on the deck at Joe's house in Pawling and hunt for stars together. Sometimes, Noah even aims it through the back door to observe the wild life. He has a thing for the swans, and deer are always a treat. We won't even talk about how they are forever chasing the geese. Here's a little eye candy of that favorite activity in progress. More to follow as we wander through our three week vacation together... Who knows where we may turn up. Maybe even on your doorstep.

Enjoy your day. Regards, C.

Nice Telescope! I bet you see some great eye candy with that!

Betina, that thing has interchangeable lenses and you can see for miles and miles. Unbelievable! I am hoping we can get a lens that will fit my Nikon N70 to it. Sometimes, if the planets align just right, you can really see some delicious eye candy! Joe has a great book on astronomy and I've been getting into it a little at a time.

The top photo could be a poster.  Have a contest to 'find' the winning 'title'

I have dibs on:  EXPLORE YOUR WORLD, START AT HOME-

2-  Man, I thought it would be bigger than that!

3-  RE/MAX- we are World Wide & on the Web!

Your turn:    cheryl (wish I had a telescope) willis

Carolyn, that photo with the telescope and the globe is definitely eye catching.

Hi C - Somehow New York and eye candy seem synonymous, at least that's my perspective living in a small town where it's sometimes hard to feel creative.  When that happens "The interesting part was that my feelings came around once I created a little momentum..."  isn't that the truth!!!

Hey listen, I hope (I really do) that things are turning around, it's not fun feeling down.  When it rains, it pours (in this case wishing you a down-pouring of positive energy).  Hang in, there might be a rainbow on the horizon.

Vacation - 3 weeks - sounds good to me, have some good times, will ya!

Cheryl W, what a neat game! (ROTFL) Send me your email so I can send you some more eye candy I'm hoarding  that might be useful for your new contest (LOL).  I think there are a few  that might work for this. I'll send you Noah and the telescope as soon as I get it so you can start the game (and get the comment points for it). I vote for #1;-)

Gary, I almost missed that shot. I was dealing with Stephen (chasing him around the couch playing tag) and happened to turn around to discover Noah zooming in on something outside. I couldn't wait to grab my camera and fire off a couple of shots. That was a really cool moment. I love when they ignore me because when they see a camera they sometimes ham it up and say "cheese" all day. That is so totally unnatural... not to mention annoying. Why do they teach kids that in school anyway?  :-)

Gail, thank you for your kind words of encouragement. I hope to poke fun at my entire vacation with the little minions. They are usually quite unpredictable and I am hoping they continue to run true to form so I can capture their antics on our mini road trips.

I am officially obsessed with this coffee mug program- make me stop!!  mug

OMG - Cheryl W, you are priceless! I want one! BLOODY AWESOME! How much do you need to get them rolling? (ROTFL) My mother would love this, not to mention my mother-in-law. I may need a dozen! Haa! :-)

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) almost 10 years ago

told you it is addicting-  photobucket is a free hosting site,  after you set up your account find the 'buy prints' tab and scroll down to the 'mugs'  it will let you design and preview.  I save the preview and then put in back in photobucket so I can link them.  (Open more tabs if you need too)  Did you see that I used my web info?  this is why I think it could work for marketing, you use what ever image you like and your own contract info.  happy to share.  cw

Cheryl W, thank you, thank you, thank you.  I see a lot of fun with this in our future.. I've over a thousand photographs! Hmm... this Christmas is going to be very interesting! (LOL)

C - Did I miss something, this vacation starts when???  Surely you're not on vacation now and talking to us....hmmm....said with a big, stupid grin!  If that's the case all I can say is....turn on the music...TO KNOW, KNOW, KNOW us... IS TO LOVE, LOVE, LOVE us.  OK, I'm done, time to eat!  LOL

Posted by Gail MacMillan almost 10 years ago

Gail, it's official. The moment Noah stepped out of school at 2:15 this afternoon we started vacation! Cool. Now what the heck do I do with all of this free time on my hands? Hmm...  any suggestions people?

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) almost 10 years ago

C - YES - most certainly... suggestions...she said with a full belly (people if you don't read the comments, you won't get the drift)  DO NOT THINK ABOUT WORK (hopefully you've got that covered), do not think about A|R (we'll mostly all be here in 3 weeks) do not think about tough decisions - they too will still be there when you come back.  IN OTHER WORDS - just go do it!!! Be there for your kids, the rest be damned, you've earned it.  See you in 3-4 weeks....big smiles.

Gail, that is sooooo cool. You must be a mommy. :-D

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) almost 10 years ago

C - go away, you're on vacation!!!  You can talk to us after you're back :-)

Posted by Gail MacMillan almost 10 years ago

C - I like your photography, great shot of Noah. Thanks for the Zeller link. Now go enjoy the day.

Posted by Mike Saunders (Lanier Partners) almost 10 years ago

Gail, I like talking to you guys! Seriously! Please don't banish me while I'm on vacation. I promise to cut back on the blogging but you have got to let me serial comment at least! I'm addicted to my relationships. I need to play with my AR friends on-line or I'll triple double my long distance phone bill (LMAO).

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) almost 10 years ago

Big Mike, you are very welcome and enjoy your day as well, sweetie. Love, C.

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) almost 10 years ago

Carolyn - I can tell you're not going to take a vacation from A|R so I guess you're back in C

But you can only post stuff about your vacation with lots of pictures :-)

Posted by Gail MacMillan almost 10 years ago

Gail... you are relentless... I really like that about you! You are now the official "Carol Vacation Police." I shall post today's vacation pictures with commentary and will be reporting for vacation duty in approximately one hour! As soon as I finish giggle therapy with the girls; I just recently finished laughing my ass off with Amanda Hall (who is brilliant with one liners).

I'm still smiling behind, "But you can only post stuff about your vacation with lots of pictures." I promise to try really hard to stick to The Gail Rule. Seriously! (LMAO)
