Oh Snap! Just got a direct message to turn my author tribute into iTunes music volumes...
It appears someone somewhere missed the fact that I am spoofing on-line with my book club bookies, social media friends and fave authors. This music project was supposed to be a wink and a nod at our fave writers in our book club Kindle collection. 11 tracks minimum 22 maximum because Amazon on Demand wont go live/produce music CDs unless the album is 76 minutes or less. I mentioned on a previous post we had to figure out which tracks stayed and which tracks had to go... um...
I'm being told (a) keep them all, (b) keep publishing Book Club Blues as an author tribute series (making this Volume 1) and (c) add more authors... I love hanging with my social media peeps so adding more cool authors wont be an issue. I sketch songs by painting with sound the same way I sketch my kids with a pen, so I'm sure there's lots of room for me to goof and spoof on new people (after all teasing is what I do - silly grin).
THE PROBLEM I'M HAVING IS THE FACT THAT THE PEOPLE SUGGESTING THIS ARE SERIOUS INDUSTRY PEOPLE.
Jay-sus - I'm scared to death... This was not supposed to happen.
I have e-mail and direct messages from websites and publishers who now want to help me with our book club selections (plus I've been offered free Kindle books).
I don't know what to do... (sigh) I have not answered anyone yet... This is my pretend job where I have a lot of fun blogging, sharing what interests me, letting my kids boss me around on creative projects and sometimes make a few bucks with my side artistic hustles. Now I have to figure out what the right thing to do is... Did I mention serious people in the industry? (sigh)
I don't know what to do... This is me being transparent when I say I'll think about it on my blog (and Facebook some authors to see how they feel about tribute albums for their books). FYI: I don't tease and spoof with people I don't like. That's why I'm nervous...
