I'm still trying to figure out what to name the next album...

Tonight is a paint some portraits night. My book club bookies were expecting another download monster moment type of post because we had a flipping hilarious day (with several OM-freaking-G moments) but I've been slacking with The Gallery lately so I have to go off-line and actually be artistic AND DO SOME WORK. I'm going to be rotating through five canvases, working with thin layers of translucent paint when I get home, so I'm squeezing in my last bit of social media playtime for the day.

Right now we're doing late night (they actually deliver food up until 2 AM in my neighborhood - oh, joy! - but we're staying out - yay!).

I'm out now playing/composing music while waiting for my girlfriend to catch up with me on Queens Blvd. We are going to have dinner together then eventually get back to sketching. I draw a lot between rotating canvases and planning paint strokes because the paint needs time to dry. It gives me something else creative to do while I figure out what colors to use next. Sometimes, the creative process also gives me a lot to spoof about on my blog (yeah, it's true - I am soooo easily amused and love to self-medicate with laughter on a daily basis - silly grin).

That's why I love lurking on my tweet-peep Vicki's blog. Chicka makes me smile all over the Internet, especially Facebook. She's the reason I'm in the street blogging right now. I'm still sparky and all sparkly from our last social media conversation (LOL). Bantering with Vicki Pettersson on-line actually resulted in two songs taking shape today. My music peeps who know my creative triggers will get the Honey Jazz comment right away. It was the name of her new series that really got me going: Celestial Blues.

I've been sitting here periodically happy-dancing on my stool for a couple of hours now because creativity releases endorphins. Endorphins make you happy... (for the scientific explanation click here). I happen to love painting with sound and I can do it for hours on end. I'm trying to figure out what Celestial Blues might sound like based upon what I know about her writing style. New series equals new voice. New voice equals new music.

Fave VP quote from her post Summer Break? "The first book in my new Celestial Blues series was also recently accepted, so I immediately took time away from the computer (my eyeballs were pulsing after pushing to meet that deadline), did some editing for another writer, took care of Real Life things I’d let pile up, and made my first foray of the summer out to the beach. Don’t be jealous – I’m back in the sweltering heat now and it was over way too fast, but I’m well rejuvenated so I can’t really complain." New books from fave authors always get me excited and a wee bit distracted (LOL).

I was supposed to write something useful for my social media new author FB/tweet-peep girlfriend Nickie Storey-Bailey but Kim Harrison kind of took care of it with her latest blog post "From the cabinet of awesomeness." She and Vicki are mad cool about sharing writing tips (and we suck it all up like starving bloggers - LOL). That bit of fun writing advice (tagged: just kidding) created a huge block of free time in my writing/blogging schedule so I had mad fun being lazy and chatty on Skype, Facebook, Blogspot and Wordpress. Yeah. I played hookie from my blog and played with everyone else on their digital turf. It happens sometimes. Think of it as down time until my next bit of on-line mischief (LOL).

You are all over the place...and I envy that.  Amazing what you're doing.  That's really called either driving....or it's really called all about passion.  Kudos!

Larry, I love to drive and my poor Hyundai has been putting up with my road trips since 2003 (LOL). We've logged over 100K on that puppy. I'm hoping to at least make it to 150K before I bug hubby for another car. Hoping for 3 more years on that puppy. :-)

LOL @ Deb. Everyone has been bugging me to write something real estate centric. I've been saving those drafts for my Kindle singles (but maybe I'll give in and blog a couple as teasers - LOL). I'm having waaaay too much fun being an artist and book club bookie hanging with interesting authors. What a cool group of creative people to play with on and off line. ;-)
