I've been sulking since yesterday because I want one of these... (sigh)
We're in Starbucks having breakfast while hanging out on Facebook in the Kim-Stream teasing and being teased about San Diego Comic Con because Kim Harrison is there signing autographs for her graphic novel Blood Work this week end. There's a glow in the dark poster for The Hollows Insider that we all want but tickets are sold out so we can't dispatch any of our CA peeps to play go fetch on our behalf (sigh). I feel like a three year old about to throw a serious roll on the floor tantrum (LOL). I finally get word of a Kimi poster and I can't get one. Bummer...
I have to go to Cinci for business and Palm Bay to meet hubby and the wee people so I can't go to San Diego. Ohio and Florida means no California (sigh). If you're going to Comic Con in CA and know me get me a friggin' Kim Harrison poster (pretty please - seriously - LOL). The Hollows Insider is coming out this fall so for Kimi collectors this poster is kind of a really big deal. (Translated: very VERY difficult to get a Kim Harrison Poster - bottom lip poking out/silly grin).
Hubby collects miniature cars, baseball cards and graphic novels so what little I know about collecting kinda comes from him. My kids are learning about collectibles from us and their Uncle John. In wee people speak that means there isn't a single hot wheel car that Stephen, the Blur Minion doesn't like (LOL). In big people speak that means I'm watching my fave authors, artists and musicians for limited edition swag. There's only ten people on my collectibles list so I'm drooling and scheming over here to get more swag (LOL). Hopefully when we take the shorties to Las Vegas I will feel better if I can snag some Vicki Pettersson swag before the wedding. She's a recent addition to my "must have" list. ;-)
Not having a Kimi poster means that I will be taking my frustration out on the weights when I hit the gym later today (evil grin). See that red ball and black mat? Emelia gave me a work out task that her personal trainer gave her to do and it totally kept me stiff on the futon barely able to move yesterday. I amused myself by reading Jocelynn Drake all day when I wasn't crying or whining about having to get up to drag myself to the bathroom and kitchen (LOL).
It was a deceptively simple but very effective exercise routine. Emmy warned me not to do too many of 'em but I didn't listen and wound up not blogging for two days (because everything hurt - especially my a$$ - LOL). Will I be doing more of them? Yeah... I just wish I had a name for that particular bit of torture... Neither of us know what to call it and all that balancing tweaks your core muscles in ways that would make an SMBD dominatrix proud (LOL). :-)
Looks like I'm going to be going to the gym on my own today... Em is "busy" (LOL). Who knows what kind of work-out mischief I'm going to get into later because I'm hell bent on getting my martial arts right. If you miss a block my sparring partners will hit you. It's incentive not to miss a block (LOL).
I am having a wonderful time battering the old body into shape when not exercising my quirky little mind trying to finish my writing assignments. We're very excited about how the book is coming along and are having a lot of fun working on the graphic novel. I'm collecting models left and right for my new characters and they've been wonderful picking out clothes for the series. They are also down with the pending knife/swordplay and are looking forward to going to the range with me to learn how to handle my firearms. Hot chicks with knives and guns is supposed to be a good topic for graphic novels (not to mention mad fun to illustrate - LMAO). ;-)
It's been a real hoot doing the photo-shoots. I'll post some pics down the road along with a couple of proposed book covers as we get further along in the project. The sneak peek of the graphic novel cover has my FB people asking for a peek at the inside pages and the other covers. I guess that means I need to post more pages from my sketchbooks and photography portfolio, eh? ;-)
Still exploring graveyards (among other things - LOL) and I have to report to Central Park later. We're working out in the sunshine today. There's a spot that the nuns like because it's really quiet. Tai Chi in the park is always fun. :-)
