Get Your Business Buggy-ride On

The fun thing about New York City is that it really never sleeps. I can have a lovely Italian meal delivered at 2 AM if I'm still up writing and find myself craving veal marsalla while sharing unique business perspectives like "Why Problem Employees Don't Get Fired" and "Time Management Is Not About Tasks" (Penelope Trunk). It's the perfect place to get out of the office to get your business buggy-ride on if you have a laptop, air card and cell phone. Central Park makes a stellar place for the moving background of a Skype call conference.

I can park myself on a bench by one of my fave spots - the Unisphere and watch them film Men and Black 3 until midnight plus use my cell phone to give Facebook peeps sneak peeks of alien motor bikes when not on my Android to making Skype video calls across the globe. When you use social media to collaborate with professionals across time-zones, work can be so much more fun when you're operating from gorgeous locations (LOL).

I can bounce back and forth between book signings when not hanging out at the street party in the middle of Times Square for the Transformers 3 sneak peak. We eventually got cleared by police because of a bomb threat. No biggie - false alarm and most of us did not blink an eye because we constantly live under the threat of terror here (sigh). Conversations were like - Husband: "Did you hear? There's another bomb threat." Wife: "Lets go to Starbucks..." (a whole block away! LOL) So much for the "run for your life" moment. Me? I only went half a block into the Marriott Maquee to hang out on the 8th floor in the Atrium and eat sushi (LMAO).

Yeah... definitely a native New Yorker, eh? ;-)

Gotta go. Time to get my conference call in then jog and blog, trolling for some turtle run eye candy. Will upload more Android photographs when I get back - I'm testing out my cell phone (LOL).

I love New York. Lots of interesting places to take photographs of and get your business buggy-ride on. ;-)

Wonderful photos!  I remember all these places - the buggy rides in Central Park, the unisphere at Flushing Meadow (I used to go there as a kid) and the city.  I love that you can order food at 2 am!  I guess you can take the girl out of NY, but you can't take NY out of the girl.  How luck you are to live there!

Elyse, I really love New York. I'm looking to check out a few new cities on business this year so it will be nice to see what other cosmopolitan spots are like. The food and eye candy are the top two things on my bucket list when I do stay somewhere new. I've family in PA so I have been poking around Phili lately. :-)
