Tann Starr Sketchbook Chronicles: The Kim Harrison cartoons living in my head... ;-)

Ever read a really cool series of books and find yourself visualizing what the characters possibly look like? I'm supposed to be working on my next album but my black uni-ball pen was sitting on this box of 100% cotton stationary near my Korg and I suddenly found myself craving creating a pen and ink doodle...

An hour later I found myself staring at the Kim Harrison cartoons living in my head.

Oh the things I could say here but wont... (LOL).

I love reading her books. Besides the tongue in cheek humor they also have mad fun dark and twisty moments tangled up between very interesting plots. I also like the cool graphics. ;-)

I'm still up C but lordy...it's 2:30 am in your world.  When do you sleep?  Love the sketches btw.

Kirsten, I frequently nap between ideas (LOL). You can get a lot done working in twenty minute increments. My kids taught me that. My little minions are mad quick so you have to constantly peek in on them. The boys keep me on my toes even when we're a thousand miles apart. We have the most fun/fascinating Skype sessions. They sometimes make off with the camera to show me stuff and forget to focus it back on them so it's like talking to Tootsie Roll Jobie Logs and Spongebob (LOL). ;-)

C- I only wish I had 1/3 of your talent and creativity.  Is that the trick... being up at 2:30am?

Kathy, I have this really bad habit of working on an idea the moment it inspires me. I can be on my way to the bathroom at 5 AM and suddenly decide to write a blog post or answer e-mail (LOL). In this case my album is waaaaay overdue in addition to the albums of a few talented friends I am producing.

I keep tweaking the music and trying to get my schedule lined up with Alicia so she can sing. Her book is out and we're supposed to be working with Jessica Klein, Candice Donofrio, Cher Johnson and Karen Jackson on a really cool project but getting Lee and me in the same room long enough to record her vocals is turning into a social media bloodsport (LOL).

Thus, I work odd hours because we're in different states juggling our on-line schedules and time zones. Once I have an agenda, sometimes I just keep working into the wee hours because I don't want to lose the creative thought.

Besides, I kinda like self-medicating with artistic occupational therapy in the Kim-Stream. (LOL). ;-)
