Well... I certainly learned something new today about the tractor-trailer rule...

Carolyn Tann Starr 2011

Did you know that parking tickets are now being issued for parking tractor-trailers on New York City residential streets between 9 PM and 5 AM? "The initial fine is $265, but any additional tickets issued to the same owner within a six-month period are $515 each. You are required to respond to a parking ticket within 30 days of the date the ticket was issued; otherwise penalties will be added to the original fine. After 30 days Finance sends a notice for any unpaid parking violation. If you receive a notice and you believe you have already paid that ticket, make sure the ticket numbers on the notice match your records. You can request copies of original tickets online."

I have to update the movie crew on this. That kinda whomps. We're updating our vehicles to rent list so we don't have to deal with that bit of parking ticket trivia up close and personal.

Who knew? Seriously...

What about the truck drivers who used to park near their homes in anticipation of going across country? When I was a kid my Uncle Harry used to stop by off route to share a meal and chill before hitting the road again. I do not particularly care for this rule because I have truckers in my family but it's the law now. Oh well...

Will show you guys how the paintings in the park are coming along later. Lots of canvas to varnish for Ward Nasse before I hit the road this week end. There will be a new artist joining our ranks shortly but I'm saving that post for Tuesday. It's one of our beloved Rainers from KY. ;-)

Right now I just want to relax, lay in the grass, flip music into Twitter and be happy that my MiFi, Android and blog are currently behaving. I may even answer some e-mail and stop ignoring my cell phone voice mail (I owe 7 people phone calls - I will call you back later - promise - after I have more fun - LOL). ;-)

Hmmmm... this is a tough one Carolyn, so therefore no overnight stays for the trucks, have to come into the city with something smaller. I don't know how practical this law is. Wild.

Karen, I noticed the RVs stopped parking behind my apartment building too. Every spring and summer two nice families used to show up and hang with their relatives. I assumed the $4 per gallon gas delayed their trip to NYC but now I'm starting to wonder if I may have missed another possible rule (LOL).

Gary, if I hadn't caught a parking ticket in Far Rockaway from a photo-shoot I would never have discovered this new parking rule. Who knew paying an alternate side of the street parking ticket on-line would inspire a blog post (LOL). I need to pay more attention when I do those impromptu sleep overs with my friends. ;-)

Morning Margaret. I'm lurking in FB waiting for someone to text me so I an call her. I will be heading your way in a couple of weeks enroute to the wee people. They have summer school then we're off on vacation. Shorties pick. Knowing them it will be beach, beach, Walmart, beach, park, beach, more Walmart... (LOL) ;-)
