Life With Wee People: Swim

Life With Wee People: Swim

I want an Endless Pool. You can take those puppies with you. Neat product. The wee people would love it. I can't swim. It's on my bucket list. Every time I get a cool cell shot from the hubby I find myself thinking that I really need to learn how to swim. That would be a useful skill set in Florida (especially since my kids are such happy little beach bums - LOL).

I was going to chat about the shorties later but the moment I confessed I had new cellshots people started fussing at me to up the eye candy (LOL).

Aint social media grand? You can share your perfect moments in the blink of an eye, spanning 1,157.3 miles as if it's nothing. I can't wait to kiss those rosy little cheeks and find out if the little minions like Chartreuse Green for the house. I think I found the right subtle little shade but the boys have to vote on it. I have a feeling Noah is going to go for the Granny Apple hue. Dude loves his Granny Apples. ;-)

Kristen made a great suggestion in the comments section on this post regarding painting the house:

I love the color and shall chat with the girls about it at Starbucks later. Now that I posted pictures of the wee people they can stop fussing at me about making them wait until after my jog (LOL).

When I get back from the park I'll update you on their day and what my guy pies think regarding painting the house a nice soothing green. It really needs to be painted as soon as possible... Might throw a pizza party to bribe the shorties into laying out the rock garden for me (LOL).

I'm scoping yellow flowers for the front yard. I may want something red and purple as well. What the heck - might as well hunt for blue ones too because my kids love The Wiggles. If we plant a wiggly butterfly garden it might make for a very cool birthday present for the Minion Blur (besides "shopping for giant cars at Walmart" - his fave thing to do - LOL). ;-)

I shall have to ask Noah to take a picture of daddy. The kids are kinda colorful and I find myself wondering what's hubby wearing. ;-)

Yeah, those pools are sometimes called 'Spools' (Spa + Pool) and we looked at them when we got our spa. Some are as much as a pool but some are less than half and no excavation . . . they take up a lot less space, can be portable and people can soak in spa while you're getting your cardio. :)

Candice, I think that the concept is simply amazing. The idea of being able to dial in the wave level for your exercise is brilliant. I also love the idea of soaking on the sidelines with a great book while others play. I don't want something big, just something fun and useful for the boys to chill and play in down the road. I figure if you're going to learn to swim at some point you are also going to have to consider the who, what, where, when and how of it. The kids are the why part. We have a lanai and backyard doing absolutely nothing... I want the shorties to have a fun, functional play space. ;-)

swimming 101

you make a cup out of your hands and windmill your hands parralel to your body.

you lock your knees and point your feet away from your body (one large padel) and only pivot your legs at your hips like a scissor.

of course you could just jump in the deep end of the pool and figure it out yourself.  or not ;)

C, they even have harnesses you can slip into that hold your body in place while you paddle and kick. I could SO see your kids loving that!

Candice, That would be an physical/occupational therapist's dream. I could see them having mad fun with that. ;-)
