Life With Wee People: Going Green

Stephen, the Minion Blur wanted to phone me about his new necklace but I missed out on the wee people call. I've been sleeping odd hours between projects and research. I'm counting down the days for when I can hit the road and hook up with the shorties and have some fun. We are going green this spring. Our yard is a mess, the house needs to be painted, the backyard has nothing in it except a rain barrel and all of the flowers and shrubs by the windows had to be ripped out from in front of our house.

Hubby declared them officially dead. The frost and freaky weather killed our delicate little butterfly garden. I am really bummed out about that and determined to select something a bit hardier for the boys to plant. We love digging in the dirt and plan on having a few fun shopping sprees at Home Depot, Lowes and Walmart. I am scoping nurseries online now. I hate the fact that thousands of dollars of plants bit the dust... My front yard looks naked... my back yard is balding... they both used to be so colorful...

The birds wont hang out either if they don't have shrubs and plants to hide in.

The first thing I am going to do is bleach the crap out of what ever that is streaking down my windows and along the wall. You would think my guy pies would notice that considering the fact they have to wait out front for the school bus (LOL). I guess when you have shrubs you don't notice it. Now that the shrubs are gone I'm thinking I have to do something about the splash back and water run off...

I should also sand and stain the fence...

Gotta go. I have a lot to Google and read this morning. I will be texting hubby about getting a power washer. We also need to chat about investing in some sod...

I may be writing several "How To" articles when I get down there. One should never have a naked bird house on their front lawn. Seriously...

I also see a bench with two rocking chairs by the front door in our near future. I find myself wondering exactly what do the wee people do while outside waiting for the school bus. They certainly aren't sitting down on anything... Then again, kids don't usually sit when they go outside to play, eh? My bad (LOL).

If I give them a choice what color do you think the kids will want to paint the house? They will probably want to help paint it so this shall be very interesting (LOL). ;-)

Kirsten, I really like this color. I'm thinking the shade that resembles the picture with the glass containing the liq would be marvelous. Thank you for suggesting it. Cream highlights would go lovely with that. Shall run it by the hubby later this afternoon when the boys get back from the beach. :-)
