C Tann-Starr's Outside Blog

Am I Real On Twitter? Um... Er... Gee... Let me think... (LOL)

Yeah... that's me hanging out in 140 characters or less... seriously (LOL).

If you think you're talking to a secretary or virtual assistant you need to get that silly little thought out of your head. I am live actually listening to Pandora and Jango when I say I am listening to a particular tune at a particular time.

I usually listen to Internet radio while I'm writing and playing in my social media accounts and will check out other artist music links when people send them to me. I like listening to my own music as well as the compositions of others.

Expecting me not to listen to my own music is kind of stupid. I create what I want to hear so why shouldn't I listen to it? There is a "Play All" button on my Jango radio station that will let you hear all 35 of my songs.

There is also a buy button for any song that gets played on Jango and Pandora. When I hear an artist I like I buy the song if I want to add it to my collection. I like when Indie Artist follow me and chat about their music. Twitter gives you access to businesses and the people behind those businesses. Did you know that PDiddy, Martha Stewart and Pleasure Ellis will actually answer you back? I've been having a running chat with Zuri Allen Star for months now (LOL).

There isn't anyone else fooling around in my Twitter accounts. I am real on Twitter. So now you know...

P.S. I direct message a lot which is usually why I'm there. The music tweets are my way of letting my tweet peeps know I'm live and lurking in their stream. MY DMs go directly to my cell phone which is how I know I need to go log in, so don't abuse the privilege. People who constantly send crap to my cell phone get unfollowed. You can only direct message if both sides follow each other so I'm careful not to DM crap to my tweetpeeps because I would hate to have people I like unfollow me for acting stupid with their valuable time...

Twitter is important to me. I like chatting with people in London, Japan and Rio. ;-)

P.P.S. All my lines are in the Do Not Call registry so don't add me to any database to send me computerized messages or try to solicit the crap out of me (e-mail first if you're advertising something). You will get into trouble... I hate those computerized messages. I like chatting with real people but you have to understand that a social media relationship is not the same as a business relationship. :-)

What did you just say? I will have to read all that again. Not sure what your message is but you did give me an idea about halting the spam and solicitaing phone calls. Thanks!

Randy, I had someone NOT believe it was really me on Twitter. I wrote this post to stick in Twitter. Just because 2.2 million readers have my cellphone number doesn't mean it's not me (LOL). I don't have a little blue check mark as a recording artist so they think it's not my real account.

That kinda whomps... I had this account before I entered the music industry. Geez... Now I have to verify my identity as "The Real Tann Starr" through a blog post.

Talk about irony... (LOL)

2.2 million readers have your cell phone number? Do you have that many followers? or did I miss something.

I don't get Twitter....truly bored by the idea entirely.

51 websites, 2.2 million virtual followers all together. How scary is that? Very (LOL).

My virtual music and art peeps waaaaaaay out number my real estate peeps. For example, I can long into Jango and see my listeners in real time. I know what country they are in, the station playing and the exact song they decide to click on and become my fan. We have internal email so we can click on our pictures and talk to each other. I have a Napster, Rhapsody and host of other music site pages that belong to my tiny record label. Today's play count a minute ago is 2,780 on Jango (and the day is far from over).

Karen, I had a company send me a free comprehensive report of all of my intellectual properties in an attempt to solicit my web business. They pointed out that I was failing to monetize those sites and that if I handed them into their care I could pull around $4k per month in affiliate marketing.

I decided to take my time and go find my own affiliates instead (LOL). I'm learning from Facebook not to give companies access to my accounts where they can post stuff on my behalf. What if I hate a company that pays well? I can wake up one morning and find my own widgets replaced by the competition, one that I theoretically can't stand but pays well (LOL). Click the red box on my sidebar and go find your own affiliates to click market. I shared the thought in previous blogs but no one cares about non real estate issues. I went to Amazon, joined their program and started marketing Rainers. Margaret Rome and Elizabeth Weintraub both have their books on a few of my sites. Look at my spinning wheel. You can buy them off my sidebar.

I have a widget that over 24k people I do not know embedded and shared. Not a single Rainer has embedded my widget. I can add YouTubes and multiple websites to it. All of them will update at the same time from my music dashboard. One featured listing could hit my music peeps in 30 seconds... This is why I ignore people who knock me for doing the things that I do on AR.

I understand the power of ActiveRain which is why I spend most of my time here. I am still waiting for AR to give us advertising block widgets for our outside blogs because I have four small companies yet I can't showcase them on my outside blogs with custom widgets. I can't even place my music widgets there and that makes no sense because they are on my sidebar... It is forcing me to build business pages on Facebook instead of here plus buy domains off platform rather than on. I need a couple of ad boxes. Four max. They can be really small...

I am patient. As AR improves so will I. My job is to pull my music peeps over here...

December 2009 was the first time I discovered 15 million plays were possible if thousands of people started embedding you widgets. Here's the post with pictures to prove the numbers:

A bunch of them have been RSS feeding and bookmarking/lurking on my sites ever since. My e-mail is out of control (LOL).

These are examples of Radio stations I can get considered for air time on only if you click the links and play/rate me. Music directors wont add you into the general line up unless there's interest in what a band is producing. I hang out in Twitter and chat about what I'm doing while finding out what other tweetpeeps are doing. Sometimes we help each other out with a positive vote or blipping each others music into the tweet stream so other people can discover us.

Oh dear God, can one only IMAGINE a CTS clone Tweeting?  HAHAHAHA!

Couldn't be done. Take too long for anyone to be able to copy your style!

because EVERYONE should TWEET FOR THEMSELF! Or don't Tweet at all!

Oh, and while I'm at it . . . Pleasure Ellis has practically made his name singlehandedly via Twitter. I have followed him for YEARS and he is a bona fide star now. And I agree, so much of it is because he DOES engage and it IS him. His 'tone' has never changed in 3-4 years so I don't imagine he has 'staff' helping him.

Candyland, P.E. is a sweetie pie. Thank you for the feature and everyone should tweet for themselves. You'd be surprised at who you may find yourself having chats with. I've been in the studio obsessing over new music when not trying to put my Cube back together. Seems I have to use Final Cut Pro for an upcoming project... Last time I touched it was with version 3. It's now up to version 7. I need a film tutor (LOL). ;-)

Awesome!!!! Working with the Zackschewski Brothers today. They are putting their first album out. Very cool. I gave them my blueprint for creating a record label and they are diving into the industry. This is going to be mad fun. ;-)

Not sure I followed this very well either. Will re-read but there is information about manners which is always valuable.

I don't get the attraction. I have had an account for years but I just don't use it very often. I know, my bad.
