Live from Ward Nasse Gallery

My friends and I are very excited about Saturday. They are already squabbling among themselves over which one of them is going up on the wall for my next exhibition (LOL). This is one of my buddies from Tony Chuy's 7 Star Praying Mantis Institute. I am working on a cool portrait of Sifu Chuy that is long overdue. I have great shots of my classmates doing the lion dance and lots and lots of film to study.

If you click the link to the school you'll see where I do my Tai Chi classes on Sundays. I've been missing from kung fu class while handling some personal business but plan to be back next week end. I've lots of catching up to do. ;-)

I love when all the artists start arriving to drop off their work. It's an amazing time where we get to catch up and see our visions unfold and how the explosion of colors play off of each other. For this exhibition I let my gal pals run amok. They chose the subtle works and went crazy over my AJ sketchbooks (LOL). They didn't know I had so many of her. I wasn't kidding when I said I love Angelina Jolie. I really do. I was happy to have received so many requests to frame a few pages out of my books.

According to my gal pals that was because I wrote this Angelina Jolie post and people have no idea exactly what's in my apartment. I guess this is the part of the show where I confess I have a lot of sketchbooks with all sorts of studies in them (LOL). I usually shred them after picking the ones I want to keep. I got yelled at today for doing that. Artists have to do that or we'll be drowning in canvas and paper (LOL). I used to throw them away but my neighbors started going through my garbage and I'd freak out when I'd see my trash on their walls (so I shred them - LOL).
