Mobile Office 101

Mobile Office 101

When you blog on the run like I do, it pays to have a mobile office that's compact and versatile. It doesn't matter if you are into Windows or Mac. What matters is that your equipment does what you want it to do when you need it to do it.

It warmed up today (and actually rained) so the diffused lighting made my photo-shoot at the South Street Sea Port an interesting challenge. Working with a Nikon and Toshiba laptop I was able to capture and process my digital images on the fly in order to make snap decisions regarding the subject matter of my next gallery show.

I started sketching this view an hour ago. When I get back home I'm going to block it out on a canvass and start painting it for the wee people. I plan on turning it into a limited edition art poster when I am done. Inna Hardison of HA Media Group will be the print vendor on this project.

I'm looking forward to working with her firm. It's an excellent company and if you haven't subscribed to Inna's blog you may want to check it out here.

On my way into the studio to continue working on our next album. The best part about having a mobile office is  the fact  that I can set up and break down my gear just about anywhere. I can switch between chasing the Little Minions, Writing, Illustration, Photography, Video, Film, Music and Real Estate with the click of a mouse.

I can also lurk on your blogs and play in social media during break time (LOL). ;-)

Carolyn - Your "mobil office" looks like something that security for the President would carry around in a silver titaniam case.  I think they use it for communication:-)

C - Frozen Tugs ... a true visualization of winter. I was a waterman/deckhand in my youth. I remember the awfull task of breaking ice off of the ship. It seemed fruitless as it came right back. We did it to keep the ship from toppling.

C- You are one mobile person.. love the photo of the frozen tug.  It's such a change to see that, and then to look out our windows here and see palm trees.

C- I love the photo of the frozen tug. Your inspiring me to go to Boston when the snowstorms are over and take pictures. I just have to say it is so cold to take pictures this time of the year. Thank you :)

Isn't it great how work can travel anywhere these days.  I loved the picture of the tug.  I need to get back to painting soon.  I am beginning to miss it more and more.  Have a great weekend!

Lizette, I have canvas stacked all over my NY apartment. I can't wait for the Spring. We are sooooooo hooking up and painting together. ;-)

Thank you, Peggy. I'm looking forward to the MD eye candy this week end. :-)

Kathy, we have to hook up when I get back. I plan to roll your way in a couple of weeks with the wee people in tow. I owe them a fun outing (among other things - LOL). ;-)

Claude, Pier 17 is a must do if you ever go into Manhattan. :-)

LOL @ Mryl. If you only knew what was in the trunk of my car... ;-)

Wallace, if they ever make the iPad with a larger drive I will be sooooooo down with it. :-)

Hi Wordy C...  your photos are fabulous, AND knowing that you are catching them then posting on the fly makes them even better!  Well done.  Now talk about multi tasking....
