Film Shoot Spring 2011

Carolyn Tann Starr 2011

Had a lovely workout in the park, met some friends, got my butt kicked during sparring practice, then went home to fall out on the futon and nap. Before I got to the nap part I was invited to join a small start-up that produces independent films.

Of course I said yes (especially since they read my blog and the film is partially about me - LOL).

I found out that the principal investor has read every single thing that I have ever written on-line (and that is a lot of random musings people - LOL) and he knows exactly what Wordy C is capable of. The best part? The wee people get a cameo in the film briefly playing themselves (which can mean anything - LOL).

That also translates into me having a hand in the script and creating new music for the film's soundtrack. Icing on the cake? I get to shop film rental locations so my social media peeps will be making some money because I always start with my sphere of influence and branch out.

Real estate can be fun if you let it. I've already started texting people about available properties. When I go to tonight's meeting I will be bringing up the possibility of Realtors doing a cameo and playing themselves. Can't give away the script but can say it's gonna be a fun ride and will not be boring.

I hate boring... so do my kids, so yeah, I'm having mad fun with this project. Did I mention it may be developed into a franchise? Can't wait for the auditions because who ever gets to play me will have to hang out and discover my quirky little world to get the character right. I may even have to drag them to RainCamp with kids in tow (Stephen, the Minion Blur really wants his Rain Cookies - LOL). ;-)

I love blogging on ActiveRain. When you write here, people discover you and your interests.

When you share your interests anything becomes possible. Even a movie deal... ;-)

How very cool! That sounds very exciting!

What an awesome opportunity-- and how satisfying to know that someone, many someones, are out there reading your words!  Let me know if you need help with the tunes... I have an extensive collection and could provide some insights and direction with the soundtracking!  Thanks C!

Monika, I'm like a little kid because the people I will be doing this project with are mad cool and really nice. I'm looking forward to bringing as much as I can to the table to make the venture successful. It's a huge opportunity and may fund the shorties college funds if all goes well and we manage to do the franchise. The first project is funded and we're setting up the escrow account. I should know the script's due date by next week and will be sitting in on the budget talks. :-)

Kathy, I've learned to be grateful for every bit of help and would love to run some thoughts by you. I will call you tomorrow because the meeting is this evening and there's a lot to get done.

Break a leg!

Lets hope your readers know what I said. You can't fail if they include your "wee people" playing themselves!

Speaking of movies, that picture reminds me of 'Men in Black." That's the World's Fair Grounds in Flushing.

Bill, I'm very excited about that because my kids are cyberminions. They love the Internet and are always checking themselves out and lurking on fave blogs with me. I miss not having them with me on this trip because they usually select the pictures for my blog and boss me around in the studio (LOL). I'm looking forward to getting my business done so I can head back before my next business trip rolls around. I've been trying to cluster my appointments to make the most of my time. :-)

J Phillip, that's the spot. I love that film. I've watched CSI being filmed by the Unisphere. Very cool.

Very cool C, and now I can say that I knew you when you weren't a movie star.

Connie, the entire process fascinates me. This is going to be mad fun. :-)

Sheila, looking forward to seeing what we invent. There will be a lot of really cool people coming on board. :-)

Margaret, this may take a while, but it is getting done, so I'm pretty happy watching it unfold bit by bit. :-)

Steve, my kids are gonna view this as the ultimate adventure. The wee people coming to the big screen (LOL). Life With Wee People is about to get very interesting, eh? Insane actually (LOL). ;-)

LOL @ Jesse. I bet Stephen and Noah are gonna want to film everybody. We call Step "Cecil B Demented" when he grabs the video camera (LOL). :-)

Thank you, Sandy. The kids still have no idea what I'm talking about. As long as I pay them in M&Ms with peanuts they are down with the blog program. Stephen upped the ante by demanding "two baby trains." (the little Thomas the Train specifically - LOL).

LOL @ JL. The fun part is I get to keep all my day jobs and make more music with kids in tow. ;-)

Tammy, definitely more exciting than napping (LOL). I have a script meeting tonight at 8 PM. It's snowing and I'm looking forward to watching people ski while I hunt up a snowmobile. It's my half day off. Playtime ends at 6... ;-)
