This is my better half who puts up with all of my mad scientist projects (and frequently helps me produce all sorts of stuff - sometimes inadvertently - LOL). Until we figure out how to move three out of four businesses south, poor hubby is tolerating my high-jacking half of our bedroom for blogging central (and me declaring dibs on our garage).

The den was supposed to be his version of "The Man Cave," however, Noah officially tossed us out of the den and confiscated Mike's computer for his Netflix/YouTube fettish while Stephen, the Minion Blur, owns the living room, dining area and kitchen. When you have hundreds of hot wheel cars, orchestrating a traffic jam on the virtual BQE requires lots and lots of floor space. We wont talk about the train tracks he got for Christmas on top of the trains and tracks he already had. If I go there, "Diary of a Four Year Old Yuppie" may need a separate website (LOL).

Now that I have a garage, I find myself wanting a garage band... with wee people... and maybe a couple of funny adults (LOL). You think with all the music we have scheduled to crank out this year I'd be thinking about doing something a little more useful with the space besides putting my equipment in it to just make noise until a suitable studio set up is created.

I have a nice backyard with nothing in it... I've been hinting that I want a little cabin to hide in and work (LOL). There are also lots for $4,000 available down here, so we're kinda trying to figure out which would be the most cost effective workaround.

I have to put everything back together before April 1st because I have singers driving in so this should be very interesting... I'm all about digital audio workstations and can set everything up in less than an hour. I just need to soundproof a new spot so I can get back to arranging music whenever I want instead of hunting down studio time in strange states during limited business hours.

I miss my NY routine... and my friggin' bagels (LOL). Oh well... at least we can come and go whenever we want. Will let you guys know when I hit Manhattan. Musicians are so much easier to find in NY... Thank goodness all of my creative friends are coming down for vacation at my house. To whack some of my boredom I've started chasing hubby around the house requesting we take dance classes together. If you ever saw me dance you'd understand the irony of that statement and whisper "poor, poor Mikey." (LOL)

Pssst... he's a good sport, mad fun and he can dance... Maybe we'll do some dance music after we finish the album "Believe." ;-)

Michael,

Run! and hide! until that dance class is over.

Wordy,

I was enjoying this until I got to the "dance class!"  The first three dance classes Brenda and I were to take resulted in one or both my feet being broken, The last class was to start 8 days after I smashed my leg.

Don't forget you can get 'almost' NY bagels in Baltimore!

Robert, it's a Riker's Island thing (LOL). Law enforcement officers practice their game face. I've been trying to teach Stephen "the glare down." We hold "the stare" for approximately ten seconds, then start giggling our heads off. I guess you loose a bit of your edge when you retire, eh? Or maybe its the kids having us wrapped around their little fingers that does it (LOL). Oh well... ;-)

OMG - Bill - I had him for the dance and martial arts classes until you said that. Now I'm like, "HMMMMMM... not as harmless as I thought..." I may have to take the rain barrel class instead (LOL). ;-)

Margaret, I am in foodie paradise deprivation hell. I was so used to Zagat dining that delivered. This is a suburban culture shock (e.g. no NY bagels, Kyoto, Yotveta, et al and I am actually cooking a lot). :-)

C - sometimes very hard to get good bagels in some parts of the country, especially with a schmeer! Taking over the garage, he must be a very, very patient and loving man.

Posted by Mike Saunders (Lanier Partners) almost 10 years ago

Either that or not mechanically inclined (LOL). Big Mike, we have the most empty garage on the block (except for the empty house for rent on the corner - LOL).

Why do people in FL leave their garage doors up? Seriously... What is up with that? They walk off like it doesn't occur to them it's the easiest way to get robbed. Suburbia is gonna take some getting used to... These people give a whole new meaning to the term "open house." (LOL)

I'm not sure that's a good thing... (sigh)
