Did I Mention I Love Penelope Trunk?

Until 5 minutes ago I was really pissed about the neighbor above my apartment waking me and the kids up. Heels on hardwood floors in the wee hours of the morning while one stumbles about before 5AM makes me really cranky. I am cool with her morning noise after 5 because her normal alarm habits usually has me lurking on-line around 5:11 AM (her second snooze button - LOL).

After I took my cranky, bleary eyed, hair standing up like a troll doll, blogger's behind to the toilet, I opened my e-mail and started my day with this link that cracked me the hell up. While I convert from bed b*tch to bagel queen go read Penelope's article. If you have ever been an intern you will really enjoy this bit of advice. She's a fabulous writer who always gives me something to smile about.

Right now, a shower and Starbucks with the wee people is starting to look really good. Free WiFi means I can open two browsers to read more blogs while the kids Netflix with the pupu juju nunu people (Tak). Did you know some Starbucks open at 5? We may even go to Bagel & Co because we love the smell of fresh baked bread.

Thank God for bagel places. I love NYC. You can eat 24 hours a day here if you decide to never cook again. :-)

Thanks for sharing. Have a special day. It is time for you to buy a house.

Michelle, she's amazingly transparent with her writing.

Roy, don't laugh, but we do own a house out of state. We vacation there. Other people vacation there (LOL). My brother-in-law is there with his kids and Mikey right now. We do a lot of running up and down the east coast.

Good morning!  Not up as early as you, but I do agree on your bagels.  Since moving to mid-MA it's hard to find a good bagel store.  Have to travel about an hour, and I'm not about to do that.  A few years ago, I visited a friend in NYC and after clubbing we went to a bagel shop.  Can't remember the name, but at 3 am the lilne was around the corner.  Great fun!

C....You are an early riser.  I get up early, but have to do it on my own, now neighbor to alert me that it is morning.  Starbucks sounds good anytime.  Have a great day.

C - You did a blog about Penelope a year ago, and I've subscribed to her ever since.  Her and the Farmer.... She's one talented writer... and pretty danged raw.

Kathryn, I have enjoyed plenty of midnight bagels. What a neat treat. :-)

Carra, there are days when I have to convince my kids that school is actually closed and we can sleep in (LOL).

Sally, sometimes reading P is the best part of my day. Besides giving fabulous career advice, she really gets what it means to have two quirky kids in tow (LOL).
