Guitar Minions, Orbs and The Spring Show at P4
So... last week I'm sitting in the auditorium minding my business enjoying "The Spring Show" when these orbs start distracting me. I thought my lens was dirty but they were constantly moving, floating lazily in the air and making me really crazy because it was Stephen's first assembly and I wanted at least one good picture without a ghost of a reflection in it.
Shorty is being introduced to performing on stage with his class and school peers. How could I miss this? It's like a waiting to exhale moment where you're a proud parent but secretly terrified he's gonna have a Minion Blur moment because you live with the kid and know him (LOL).
Noah is an old hand at it and enjoyed himself when it was his turn to participate with his class.
While parents are creating a frenzy of flash photography, spots are floating before my eyes and I'm thinking I really need to get them checked because you can see them everywhere in the digital lightening. Orbs are the bane of a photographer because it's the one thing you can't control no matter how much you plan to have a good time taking pictures. Think of it as me being in Eye Candy Hell where the performances were great but I could not capture it without whispering inappropriate thoughts of frustration with every digital click of the ap that captured an orb (LOL).
"Revenge of the pollen?" might make a better blog post title. Those orbs are everywhere (LOL).
The cool thing about The Spring Show is that it inspired Noah to get a wee bit more serious about trying to play his guitar. Normally we have it around for pretending to be The Wiggles but now he's interested in playing like Esteban. Dude is plucking strings (LOL). Do my neighbors hate me? Um... er... yeah. It appears he may be plucking their nerves (LMAO).
Did you forget about the piano lessons my gal pals chipped in with me for them to have? Now we have piano and guitar practice going on in my apartment. At least we can use the headphones for the keyboards (LOL). Too bad we can't hide the classical guitar noise. Oh well... Music is math... At least I take them out to play so everyone doesn't have to be tortured at a set time and location. I have no problem meeting people half way. I'm flexible that way. I happen to believe in equal opportunity beginning music lesson torture for all (LOL). ;-)
Esteban's Complete Guitar Course For Beginners is mad cool. Get it for your shorties. It's occupational therapy in my household because it keeps the wee people occupied (LOL). Think I'm kidding? I'm not you know. They actually fight for a turn at it and watch Esteban with the same intensity they watch Sponge Bob (LOL). For those of you who do not know my kids that is a huge compliment to Esteban. Seriously...
To be fair, I kinda think Stephen is waiting for him to take his shades off (he doesn't understand the concept of being blind, he's only three so forgive him - LOL). I know Stephen has a shade fetish. He keeps taking mine to wear before he plays. :-)
Come to think of it I really should film this... I laugh with them every day over their musical antics and we can't go past 45 minutes because it would be cruel and unusual punishment for the people who have no idea where that racket is coming from. Parents have a way of enjoying their children that non-parents don't so I do try to be somewhat considerate of others when I can. 30 minutes for Noah and 15 for Stephen seems fair (same as the piano lessons) and I mix and match the days and times so you never know when it's coming.
They even practice in the car. How cool is that? Very!
My shorties are developing their own style of joy ride. ;-)
