Dear Diary... Dead Like Me: Seasons 1 & 2 Plus The Movie Life After Death

Tonight Melodious and I are going to log into our Netflix accounts and stream Dead Like Me: Life After Death. Why they canceled this show after two seasons I'll never figure out. It was really good and the morbid irony was sooooo much fun (LOL).

Awwwwww... come on... What do you expect from a gal who loves William Shakespeare and E. A. Poe? Hmm? (LOL)

Since the two of us have not seen the movie (but watched all of the episodes for both seasons) we're going to watch it together later this evening. Melodious is in TX and I am in NY but social media means we can be together anytime we please. Will there be a Dead Like Me Life After Death skype par-tay? Maybe... Depends upon who is on when we sync our watches to watch Ellen Muth & Jasmine Guy et al do their thing (LMAO).

Here's the Netflix quote: "A new assignment hits home for grim reaper Georgia (Ellen Muth) when her latest reaping, Hudson Hart (Jordan Hudyma), turns out to be the secret love of her sister, Reggie (Britt McKillip). Meanwhile, Cameron Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) takes over as Head Reaper, but he's not highly regarded by his undead underlings Daisy (Sarah Wynter), Roxy (Jasmine Guy) and Mason (Callum Blue) in this feature follow-up to the short-lived Showtime cult hit." Hmm... What was Showtime thinking? They should have never canceled this show. It had so many expandable characters... Maybe another network will pick up the D.L.M. rights like when they canceled Medium. One can hope, eh?

I also like watching BBC shows with my London UK gal pals. We finished all six seasons of Wire In The Blood and seasons 3 and 4 of Dr. Who was mad fun. Freema Agyeman as the character Martha Jones is such a treat to watch. Freema also plays a character in the UK version of Law and Order (which I am really craving to see but don't know how to find in the USA). I am a huge Law and Order fan and have watched every episode except for the UK version. If we write lots of fan letters do you think they'll let it play here? I hope so. I feel kinda deprived not knowing where to get the DVDs or official streaming version. If you find out feel free to post a link so I can buy or watch this. The script writing for the L & O franchise really fascinates me and Agyeman is a very talented actress. She also plays Martha Jones in the Dr. Who spin off Torchwood. If they do another season of both franchises I hope they figure out a way to bring her character back to both shows as well. If they didn't film The Legend of the Seeker with the Aussies I would love to see her kick a$$ over there (I like martial arts - LOL).

Social media is a beautiful thing. Where else can the international girls all get together for good conversation while  throwing a digital par-tay during and after dinner to share a movie without leaving the comforts of home?

Streaming allows you to work and play at the same time. If you are going to call conference with your friends you might as well have some audio visual fun with the people living in your computer. New York is minus 5 hours from London UK time. My midnight snack is dinner time for the UK ladies. Stephen likes to bother them at work so I have to go collect the Minion Blur so he can giggle at their accents while we plan my next gallery show. 3:30 UK time is an excellent water cooler moment on Mondays. Just sayin... ;-)

There's a UK Law and Order? I did not know that! And yet I'm not surprised. George Lucas had a vision of Star Wars being on a movie screen 'somewhere' 24/7/365. I think Dick Wolf accomplished that. I still find episodes I have not seen.

Candice, I have been drooling with the prospect of seeing this thing. I love Law and Order. My art buddies think I am going to skip my reception to hide in the hotel and watch this (LOL). I keep telling them to send it for my wedding anniversary present or my birthday. I want those DVDs. Even if it means begging for a foreign portable DVD player. I gotta see Freema playing a litigator. She ROCKS! Law and Order is da bomb. ;-)

I didn't know Netflix were streaming now.  Can you do it somehow directly to the T.V.?  And if so, how?

Ms. C, you might be the funniest blogger on all of Active Rain!  A virtual date with your sweetie?  That is so freakin' cool!

"TRUE! nervous, very, very dreadfully nervous I had been and am; but why WILL you say that I am mad? The disease had sharpened my senses, not destroyed, not dulled them."

Jane, you have to call Melody Botting. She runs a cable from her laptop to her big screen TV. She can tell you how to hook up movie night streaming videos from Netflix on the tele. Call Melodious!!! She is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. :-)

Patricia, I have virtual dates all over the world. I love social media. Everyone can get in touch and have mad fun while still at work. I have one browser streaming shows while I am blogging and chatting (LOL). I have to call Melodious back after she finishes dinner with her family so we can chat and watch our movie. Then I have to check in with my other gal pals. Mike is playing World of Warcraft so it is "the ladies night out while at home" (LOL). ;-)

Richard, an awesome quote, indeed. That man gave me goose bumps when I was a ten year old. It would have been nice if someone had explained that 10 year olds do not read Poe (LMAO). I used to run to the library on Saturdays during the Summer and wait for it to open. I'd stay until it closed. It was quiet. It had air conditioning. It captured my imagination and took me places that helped me escape the gangs, thugs and drugs infiltrating my neighborhood. The adults were after fresh kids because they knew little kids would go to juvvie hall rather than detention for first time offenses. You had to avoid people you didn't know and duck the families you knew where using their relatives for stuff they shouldn't. The library was the safe place to be because back in the day it was the one place miscreants never thought to bother. Idiots don't think about reading and there are security cameras up so the expensive books don't disappear. There was nothing there the thugs wanted to steal so I was safe as long as I sat somewhere in the middle. Everyone avoided the window seats. No one wanted to be a witness to anything. I loved hanging out there. Junior high was hell on wheels. I learned to fight there and was shocked to discover later in life that my old school was ranked pretty high nationally as a dangerous place to be a student. Our crime stats were off the hook and I started running home for lunch. I think I learned to love running track because of it (LOL). I used my art talent to get into a vocational school in Manhattan to avoid having to do high school with the same problem people. We lost track of each other, then I got into law enforcement and discovered most of my neighbors kids had been arrested. Go figure... Am I into irony? You betcha (LOL).
