Blizzard Minions

Carolyn Tann-Starr 2009

Blizzard Minions

It is 27 degrees, the wind is blowing like crazy, yet somehow the railings and steps have 6 to 10 inches of snow clinging to them. I can't get my car out of the garage because the ramp has enough snow drift and ice down it to make traveling anywhere a moot point. It's too cold to make a snowman, the wind is fogging up my Nikon and I find myself horrified that I have to go out into this mess to write an offer on a house. Making money is supposed to be a good thing, right? I am very tempted to tell my clients to go online and order fax machines  (LOL). Psssst... three and one printers would make really good Christmas gifts (ROTFL). Who wouldn't want to own a fax-scanner-copier after today?

Poor maintenance... They are going to be trying to dig us all out for days... While we watch from the comfort of the boy's room, we're going to be making miniature snowmen on the window sills. NYC is reporting 10 - 22 inches of snow. How about you guys? I hear the Eastern Seaboard is about to break a blizzard record. Cool. :-)

We've just shoveled out our 2 SUVs in Virginia * this is my SoCal husband's Jeep this AM....

Posted by Wallace S. Gibson, CPM, LandlordWhisperer (Gibson Management Group, Ltd.) almost 9 years ago

Oh my word... Wow! Wallace, I am definitely going to be keeping myself indoors. I may be getting really creative with the fax machine because as much as I like snow, this looks like its going to be a huge mess. The ice is really hanging... I expect trees to be dropping branches today.

Stay cosy with the kids!    I lived in Minnesota for 15 years and at 27 degrees people were wearing shorts.  Now that I'm back home in CA snow is a freaky thing.  There was a little here a couple of weeks ago...up on the hilltops of Sonoma and Marin Counties.  Today it's foggy, cloudy, and there's a chance of rain.

My issue:  I'm scheduled to show a mountaintop property....a view  property....and visibility is less than 1/4 mile.  Oh well.  That's real estate!  And aren't we glad it's what we do?  I am.

Baby, it's cold outside and I just love this version!

Kristen, it's always interesting, eh? You be very careful out there. Bring your camera and take some shots. I bet it will make for a very nice blog post. Before the snow, in the snow, after the snow... (LOL). A home with a view is always so cool to show off. ;-)

LOL @ Russell. Very cool!!!

I've got 2 feet in Lovettsville.  By the time my snow removel folks get here to do my driveway, it may be Spring.

Janice, sometimes we really need to be reminded, eh? I kinda want to go back to sleep. :-)

J Phillip, it's amazing how kids have the same reaction to snow. I remember always being amazed at the first snow... Everything looks so clean and pristine. I love watching it come down in the early morning hour when everything is silent and glowing... :-)

ROTFL @ Lenn. ;-0

Thank you for sharing your blizzard experience. I lived in Chicago in past, I know how it feels to stay indoor for a day or two during blizzard. Merry Christmas.

We were hoping for that blizzard to hit us, but it has not!  We only got a few inches and they cancelled our Christmas party in RI because they got almost 2 feet!  Too bad, we lost on this one!

Sincerely,

Kathleen

Merry Christmas, John. :-)

Kathleen, you may still be in for some serious snow. I hear this puppy is growing (LOL). :-)

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) almost 9 years ago

C:  We are still wishing for a snowfall.  My daughter's other half is in the snow removal business here and we haven't had one snowfall yet.  Yours looks wonderful!  The kids will have a ball playing in it.  I do remember how quickly I get tired of it.

C-Tann - Ok, don't get mad at me now because it's sunny and 72 here today.  It does get down to the 40's at night.  BRRR.....

Posted by Donne Knudsen, CalState Realty Services (Los Angeles & Ventura Counties in CA) almost 9 years ago

My son is not happy because he has a bad cold so he hasn't been able to get out and play in it. This is the most snow he has ever seen.

Posted by Dr. Stacey-Ann Baugh, A doctor who makes house calls. (Century 21 New Millennium) almost 9 years ago

I don't know what our total accumulation was (12+). I was outside running the snow-blower and shoveling all day! My aching bones. My husband has been plowing for 24+ hours. It is 5:30 Sunday night and I already received an automated call that there will be no school for my son on Monday. At least someones happy about this. LOL

Posted by Judy Jennings, Broker - The Lanterns at Warren Woods - Ashland MA (The Green Company) almost 9 years ago

Kay, hubby took them out but it didn't last long. Way too cold (LOL).

Donne, my kids would love that because it would mean more time to play outside. :-)

Dr. Stacey, I know how he feels. I have a sore throat and didn't get to frolic with hubby and the wee ones.

Judy, the surrounding states are reporting two feet and more. I do not want to go to work tomorrow...

We haven't seen any snow here, but we have had plenty of what we consider cold weather. (in the 30's)

Posted by JL Boney, III, Columbia, SC Real Estate (Coldwell Banker) almost 9 years ago

Wow... that is mad cold for SC. :-)

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) almost 9 years ago

When I started to read this I thought you were going to do a Cat In The Hat post.  BTW - it is never too cold to play in the snow especially if you are a kid or a kid at heart.

In N. NJ we only had about 6-8 inches.  Still enouph to have some fun.

Posted by Josef Katz, {Marketing Maestro} (Digital and Direct Response Marketing) almost 9 years ago

Josef - what a stellar idea!!! A Cat in The Hat post would be fun, eh? Lets see what I can cook up when I pick the wee people up from school today. :-)

We've got nothing but blue skies and temps should make it into the 60's tomorrow.......we are sooo past due for some snow!

Posted by Ann Allen Hoover, CDPE SRES ASP e-PRO Realtor - Homes for Sale - AL (RE/MAX Advantage South) almost 9 years ago

Ann, the 60s are way cool. It is 21 degrees right now... Ouch! What was I thinking? I was actually ready to go jogging to collect some eye candy, but now I am not so sure (LOL).

Posted by C Tann-Starr (Tann Starr & Associates, Inc.) almost 9 years ago

Ah technology...you have got to love the 3 in 1 fax acanner copiers... I would be lost without mine and there is no SNOW in Florida!   I remember the blustery winters in NYC (My old stomping grounds) ALL too well.   Bake some cookies and enjoy the quality time with the minions.

Posted by Allison Stewart, St. Cloud Fl Realtor, Osceola County Real Estate 407-616-9904 (St.Cloud Homes ) almost 9 years ago

Baking cookies sounds like an excellent plan. Shall do that today. :-)
