Wordy C on Career Advice from Gary Roth and Other Random Thoughts...

http://www.bmi.com/news/entry/539871

When you finish reading this link, substitute your social media accounts and any other on-line gig you have that has value and start collecting your info to update your wills. I am trying to make a catalog and trying to get my contracts in order. I have to pass them on to the wee people. I've been remiss in my duties... Got art? Got crafts? Got collectibles? Got books you authored? Got blogs you wrote? You may have created a lot more intellectual property than you think...

Did you know that your heirs can turn your entire blog collection into a series of books? Why wait? You can start that project right now if you want to. Break your blog down by subject matter and self publish that puppy or send it off in the correct format to the publishers of your choice to see if they want to publish your work for you. :-)

I bet I could pick out a couple of rants that have all the makings of a treatment for a made for TV movie (LMAO). The best part? I am in NYC. I am surrounded by movie studios. I can hound them for you (ROTFLMAO). Better yet. I'll hound you. Go do your version of the Blair Witch project. Seriously!!! Get busy! :-)

BMI has a fantastic website. I am very happy that the Ambassadors of Chaos Recording Studio artists have joined. Now I have to get the publishing contracts in. I have three that I have to sign for our little independent label. I've been high-jacking talented friends who want to do something beside enjoy singing in church. God bless them. They have been keeping me busy with their wave files and I am going to have a lot of fun creating neat stuff to blog about. :-)

Hmm... about my missing in action... I have been writing and deleting posts for the last five days. My blogging schedule is completely destroyed because I can't make up my mind regarding what I want to talk about. There is just too much going on: Kid drowned my cellphone so I can't get through to a crap-load of people (oh, the joys and woes of speed dial - LOL). Elevator got stuck, started taking the stairs, slipped, fell, cracked my arm and head. Pssssst... have you ever been concussed? One eye gets a really big pupil while the other eye gets a really, really small one and you can't see. Light hurts like hell. Seriously...

How did I manage to miss that little step? Blame it on the Flu. Ever notice when you sneeze your eyes automatically close? I guess I didn't notice that little factoid until I busted my a$$ running down the stairs (ROTFL). Why am I cracking wise? Well...why not? (LMAO)

If you can't make fun of yourself with your friends who the Hell can you spoof with? ;-)

Time to get back to work... the tutorials are calling. Expect the unexpected is the only hint and warning you are going to get from me... I am off my meds and a wee bit cranky (LOL). You may even say I am on the rag. ;-)

Did someone forget they weren't a child anymore when they decided to "run" down the stairs? LOL! I can relate! But the concussion part. Just shoot me. If I can take out my daily frustrations by regularaly killing random mobs on my MMORPG of choice, I just may start shooting the people who actually get me to that point  o.O  God help us all if I can't spend hours, in-game!

Oh no!  I have been a little worried about you but just figured you were busy with all your projects.  Sorry about the Flu, the fall, the demise of the cell phone.......

Hang in there!

C, you crack me up! I LOVE it!!! Hope you are feeling better, sorry to hear about your arm and concussion.

Wondered what happened to you.  One more day and the L.A.P.D. were on their way.  Sorry about the mishap.  All I can say is it could have been worse.  Glad you're back.

Posted by Jane Peters, Connecting you to the L.A. real estate market (Home Jane Realty) almost 9 years ago

LMAO @ Lisa. Seeing how I am in the middle of my second childhood, hmm... ;-) Besides, I have minions. The wee people dash about even if they are only going four feet. Running is second nature in my household. I shall try to remind myself that I am 44 later (LOL).

The demise of the cell phone was particularly galling (LMAO). I am in soooooooo much trouble when I start returning those phone calls. I've been on the futon since the 12th. Ann, I need a vacation (LOL).

Sara, my love, glad to see you visiting. I am doing much better now that I have even pupils (LOL). Poor Mikey got the brunt of it. Wee people made out like a bandit. Can you say too much fast food (LMAO). ;-)

Jane, if they had come I would have been trying to swipe a patch for my collection and made 'em take a picture for my blog (LOL). I've been hinting at the hubby I wanna go west. He doesn't believe me. He thinks TX is my only interest (LOL). Ahh... if he only knew the true extent of the plans for Wordy C state invasions... ;-)

Deleting post?

Why?

Running down the steps and sneezing...oh my.

I finally worked out the first time this week after falling at my lake house, sprained my ankle.

Be careful.

Missy, sometimes one has to edit oneself (LOL).

I have wondered from time to time if anyone had ever published a book of blogs. Sounds like it could be a fun experience.

Posted by JL Boney, III, Columbia, SC Real Estate (Coldwell Banker) almost 9 years ago

JL, I've seen a few in Barnes and Noble. Very tastefully done. It's a lot easier than people think and a wonderful way to monetize a blog. :-)

Yep, everytime I logged on, I looked for you.  Things are crazy for me (I am in Phoenix right now at the Proctor workshop and of course, everything hit the fan the 2 days before I left!) but not half as crazy as your life!?!?!?!

Sorry to hear about your fall!  :-(  But I can see that it hasn't slowed you down in the least.  ;-)

Sandy, we really need to get a visit in (LOL). I have to go to Pawling in a few days. Will try and set something up. :-)

Hope you are feeling better. I guess you don't have to take the flu shot now that you already got it this season.

LOL @ Gita. This is true. :-D

Thank you, Jesse. Working on a really wordy post right now. ;-)

Carolyn, I started a blog about my quilting years ago.  I thought it would be neat to have the 'stories' about projects in one place for the kids to have.  The site crashed and I lost it all!  I can see a need for the writings to be in one place.  cw

Cheryl, I have been trolling through my blog wondering if I had a choice of faves, or a choice of subject matter, what would I want the boys to read and friends to enjoy?

A friend sent me here as a sample of choices for self-publishers:

There are a lot of places you can go. I like Xlibris as well, even though it costs more. Seems there were acquired by a parent company. :-) http://www.authorsolutions.com/authorservices.aspx?id=196

C,

First sorry to hear about the mishap.  Sometimes those things help slow us down to give us time to reflect.. you ms. blogger friend are on a GALLOP at very high speeds all day long!  So giving you time to delete posts... that is a gift to get organized... yes, my glass is 1/2 full ALL the time.   It gave you the time to write this post which has great information... to have your kids profit from your work does mean that the posts would have to have meaningful content.. but beyond that the idea of creative content and protecting it for future generations is important. Thanks for keeping us on the right track.

Now for the gossip... Candice D and Pamela Cendejas from activerain and I are having a Spa day at Laughlin Ranch in December so your ears will be burning!!!!
