I am soooo going on this next ActiveRain Road Trip (LOL). Just got back home and started reading the mail. Lekeya Martin, Legislative Analyst, Assembly Committee on Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry I thank you. In spades.
Ladies and Gentlemen, please write what ever you believe is important to you regarding the state of our industry because I would love to present to them a written statement. My instructions provide for ten prepared copies to be delivered to them in advance so have at it people.
I plan to attend the Economic Development Budget Oversight Hearing on October 28, 2009. The meeting starts at 10 AM in the New York State Capitol's Assembly Parlor, Room 306.
The Junior Ambassador from New York would like to make ActiveRain proud, so please think about what you are going to post in the comment sections. I have every intention of whipping out my laptop to show you guys off (LOL).
Oooo... think of the possible eye candy... ;-)

Ms, Carolyn,
Your voice IS heard and we are all very proud of you! The biggest question is the 10 minutes for wordy C?
Congratulations!
Your friend in the Cosmic Cow Pie.
C, that is such an honor. Banks banks banks, short sales, foreclosures sitting waiting to be dumped on the market, loan redmodifications, just to name a few.
Wow, way to go. 10 whole minutes, that is great!
This is a great honor. As this is the same day you are scheduled for a visit to West Chester, I am keeping you on task and rescheduling our play day for you. If you can, come the following Wednesday. 11/4 I think it is. Good luck! What an honor!
Congratulations C on your invitation and I am quite sure that you will leave a lasting impression on all of those that you will be talking to.
Congratulations, Carolyn. How exciting.... but how in the world are you ever going to fit everything in, in 10 minutes? Are you going to record yourself talking really fast, and then playing it back to them in 10 minutes? :)
Sylvie, I am going to behave and do it in five minutes (LOL). Did you guys forget I am a retired government employee? I worked on policy and procedure documents for over 15 years and am very good at admin and personnel paperwork. I'm not silly all the time, just most of the time. ;-) Besides, when I was a Warden's secretary we had to do the budgets for the facilities on Rikers they were responsible for. We're talking monthly analysis of multi-million dollar facilities people. I was also one of the first Facility Informations Systems officers ever appointed to the Department of Correction in a jail. Ooooo. We're gonna learn something new about Wordy C in a wee while. I shall have to go into Paralegal mode to write this statement because I am currently reviewing my industry stats right now. ;-)
Don, I am working on my research now. I have a friend who is always writing Government reports and she teaches at the NYCDOCTA. Chicka has an English degree ao I plan on seeing her over the weekend to review my work. This means I have to have my paper written by Saturday and edited by EEK so I can send it overnight delivery before 5PM to be there for Monday. Will be setting up my outside office at the beach condo tomorrow. :-)
Susan, I will be there 11/4 and continue down for REBarCamp in Durham from your place. Thank you, sweetie pie. BTW, Mikey thinks I should post my paper in the Rain. I am thinking about it... What do you think?
LOL @ Carra. Sometimes short can be amazing (LOL). ;-)
Andrea, thank you for picking the topic of my report and I shall be giving you kudos in it. It will be part of the record for their budget hearings. ;-)
WOW C! What an honor! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I know many will send enough stuff for you to share! Go prayerfully, and allow the inward voice to speak!
"C" --- Andrea got to the point before I got to your post --- Chris Ann Cleland has post today on Bank of America which could give you some more ammunition , as if you really needed any. Congrats on this wonderful opportunity.
Mama Liz
Wow ... I learned plenty about you today. :) Way to go.
And I also learned your gps feels like me. Menopausal. (and it's more about the 'pause' than it is about the 'men'). LOL :)
Diane, I shall definitely be praying for the words to convey what everyone is saying. He need all the help we can get to help the market recover and voice our concerns about the unintended consequences of some of their drafted legislation. :-)
Liz, I shall go over there and read it. Thank you for the heads up. Feel free to post what ever useful links you think will help me get our points of order across. Never know how many of 'em I can get to check out the network blogs. :-)
LOL @ Sylvie. I sometimes take PMS-ing to whole new heights sweetie pie (LOL). Sometimes I channel my moods into something useful and constructive and then there are the other times when people who know me really well take one look and run like Hell (LMAO).
C:
Here is a link to the Assembly's web site with a list of the committee members and links to each of the member's pages - you may wish to take a closer look at your audience so you know how to best tailor your remarks.

Carolyn, these days, I'm more the latter. People are running like hell FROM me. LOL
And the doctor keeps telling me that it won't last long ... maybe another 5 years :/
This is all new to me, so I'll need to learn from you, how to channel this maniacal mood into something constructive. :)
Jesse, thank you. Going to poke around over there now. :-)
Sylvie, channeling maniacal moods is a blog post all of it's own. Might make a fun book (LOL). ;-)
You are the perfect person! What to say . . . what to say . . .
Carla, I have been up all night working on this. I am exhausted... in a nice way (LOL). My e-mail is flooded with interesting stuff. I have to take some clients out and then I'm going to get back to my draft. I have a dinner date with my editor. :-)
